After the Storm
As our sails unfurled
in a sea of dark waters,
our lives, like a ship
through the night, did embark.
Though trouble and pain
crashed hard on the bow,
the light from His Word lifted
the veil from our hearts.
His spirit within us,
we glide over waves white
with foam and stark hissing,
as the end rises in sight.
We stretch our arms forward,
hoisting faith firm on the mast,
with brothers beside us
as the wind rattles and blasts—
the cold final breaths
of a world on the edge,
the new world upon us,
and joy without end.
